Honduras as a vacation destination?

I’m contemplating a trip to Honduras this summer and I want to know if anyone has experience there, what are good things to see.
I’m probably a medium as far as travel toughness goes, I’ve traveled in (non-resort) Mexico in South America and a four hour hike through the jungle sounds great but I’m not into overnight trekking and I prefer a clean place to stay with a private bathroom.
Also any input or advice on safety would be great!!!

If you are a member of AAA they can give you some great suggestions. Honduras is a beautiful country, affordable, and welcoming. I am not sure what you mean by “travel toughness”.
My father had a hard time with what he called a sand fly. They stay a few yards off the shore and eat the crap out of you while your walking toward the beach. The only thing he said worked was a face lotion by Avon. Also TP was scarce.
Go to South Africa (so many things to do, rafting, snorkeling, safaris, hiking, ect.), Nicaragua, Ecuador, or Puerto Rico instead.
